Pomona Islands Salford Regeneration

Pomona Island is known as “Manchester’s hidden island” situated on the Manchester Ship and Bridgewater canals and in-between Manchester city centre, Salford and Trafford.

What is the Pomona Islands Regeneration programme?

The 22 acre site owned by Peel Holdings has been renamed Manchester Waters and is comprised of twelve development plots, eight of which are residential, including X1 Manchester Waters, with two plots designated for retail and leisure and one for commercial business. Construction of the residential plots is well underway, with one block already delivered at the St George’s Island end of Pomona.

Salford Quays Regeneration

The regeneration of Salford Quays has been a massive success story, with buy-to-let property investors who invested early on seeing excellent return on their property investment. Pomona Island was originally opened as a leisure site in 1845 and later became docklands in the 1970’s, but since then has been abandoned and fallen into a state of disrepair… until now.

The Pomona regeneration programme is on the last undeveloped stretch between Salford Quays and Manchester city centre, connecting to the Castlefield regeneration.

Manchester’s Castlefield Regeneration

The Castlefield regeneration will deliver an area with a unique identity and distinctive landscape and is expected to become a popular residential location, which sits alongside popular visitor attractions in addition to local amenities including a vibrant selection of restaurants and bars. Castlefield in renowned as being Britain’s first Urban Heritage Park, characterised by the world’s oldest industrial canal, the Bridgewater Canal, its cobbled streets and tranquil backdrop.

Connectivity to Manchester City Centre

The Pomona Island area will benefit from the new £350 million Metro link extension to the Trafford Park Line. The brand new line branches off from Pomona and run all the way through to intu Trafford Centre via six new stops, connecting all stops in approximately 30 minutes or under from the city centre.

Capitalise from the Pomona Islands Regeneration

X1 Manchester Waters is being delivered in partnership with the Peel Group and is the flagship development of a major re-development of the Pomona Islands area, forming part of Peel’s wider Strategic Waters master plan and has been identified by Regency Invest as having excellent potential for capital growth and rental income, as the Pomona Islands regeneration programme is delivered and the area is transformed.

X1 Manchester Waters is one of the last remaining large scale regeneration opportunities within walking distance to Manchester City Centre. The final block, Tower 3, is now available with limited availability. On completion the stunning development will boast prime double-fronted waterside location.

With the first building delivered and occupied, but with the regeneration programmes still in its early stages, now is the time to buy. Speak with one of our experts today.
